Celebrate Halloween in Lahaina

October 30, 2018

Ask any Maui resident and they will probably agree; the biggest and most celebrated holiday on Maui is Halloween.

Happy Halloween 2018 from Kihei Rent A Car

May I have your driver’s license and credit card please?

Everyone at Kihei Rent A Car loves Halloweeen

Every year Lahaina Town hosts one of the largest Halloween parties in Hawaii. This annual street party is often dubbed the “Mardi Gras of the Pacific”.

How may we all help you?

Police close Front Street, the main drag in Lahaina, from 3:30pm until around 11:00pm. This gives costumed visitors and residents the chance to walk freely down the street and enjoy the many events happening throughout the evening.

Parking is extremely limited in the Lahaina area on Halloween. Vehicles parked in restricted areas will be cited and towed at the owner’s expense. Many folks choose to take a shuttle bus.

For those who choose to travel to Lahaina by bus, there will be Halloween Express Bus pickup and drop-off locations at War Memorial Gym in Wailuku and Kihei Aquatic Center. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at the Lahaina Town Action Committee’s Halloween page at https://visitlahaina.com/.

This year’s highlights include the 40th Annual Keiki Halloween Costume Parade starting at 4 p.m. Keiki are invited to come in costume and participate in a parade down Front Street to Campbell Park led by the Lahainaluna High School Marching Band. The parade organizes and begins at Front and Papalaua Streets near the Outlets of Maui.

Campbell Park will open at noon selling the official Halloween in Lahaina T-shirt. Special event food sales start at 4 p.m. at the location. This Halloween, experience the first-ever curated Halloween Arts Event in Campbell Park with Lighted Art Installations, Live Performances and Special Guest DJs. At 9 p.m. there’s a feature debut performance of “Do You Love Me,” by acclaimed “Maui Hoop Crew.”

Adults are invited to wear their most creative Halloween costume and enter the Adult Costume Contest, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Campbell Park. 1st place costume will receive $1,000, 2nd place $500 and 3rd place $250. Registration begins in Campbell Park at 5:45 p.m. and concludes at 8:45 p.m. Winners will be announced at 9:30 p.m. and must be present to win.
