IT’S 2023!
The new year is a time for reflecting on the past and looking forward to the future. As Kihei Rent A Car enters 2023 with fresh, new leadership, the fleet of rental vehicles are getting an upgrade as well.
We’ve added a couple dozen 2018 Nissan Sentras. These will replace the 2011 Nissan Sentras that will be sold in the spring. The 2013 Nissan Sentras will become the “Discount Cars”.
The only vehicles we allow past Lindberg’s Grave, which is just past 7 Pools in Kipahulu, otherwise known at “the backside”, are the Jeeps and the SUVs.
.
Until recently our fleet was made up of only used vehicles. In the fall of 2022, when it was very difficult to find any vehicle for sale, let alone good quality used Sport Utility Vehicles, the KRAC team bought 10 brand new Nissan Rogue SUVs. This is the first time the company has offered SUVs. Everyone who rents one is happy with the good gas mileage and “bigger than a sedan” size.
Our most recent upgrade is to the Jeep Wrangler fleet. Jeeps are very popular on Maui. So we bought ten 2019 Jeep Wranglers with hard top, sunroof, and 4 doors; just like our current Jeeps. We will purchase ten more as soon as possible. Our 2015 Jeep Wranglers are for sale now and will stay in the rental fleet until sold. So, depending on what’s on the lot the day you pick up a Jeep, it could be a 2015 or a 2019.
If you or someone you know are interested in buying a 2011 Nissan Sentra or a 2015 Jeep Wrangler please call us at 808-879-7257.
KRAC TIP: If you want to go around the backside but are renting a car, call us the day before your Hana Trip to see if we have a Jeep available to swap into for the day. You just pay the difference between your car’s daily price and the Jeep’s daily price. If a Jeep is available you come trade your car in for the day and come get a car back 24 hours later.
