Aloha Acacia

Twenty years ago I had a baby. Her name is Acacia Leilani Craine. After growing up playing in the mop bucket, “washing” cars (more like running through the hose as the car washer sprayed a car), hanging out in the back office with her dog after school, watching drag races and circle track races for years, and spending summers learning how to drive on the family farm; Acacia is now officially a part of the Kihei Rent A Car team.

Acacia, like her name, is connected to nature and all of its dynamic colors and beauty.

She will be taking care of our evening renters; shuttling them to and from the Kahului airport.

**Even though our Kihei office hours of operation are 9am to 5pm, we have a small night crew taking care of those with reservations who are arriving and departing at the Kahului airport up until 9:30pm.

Since Acacia was born and raised here on Maui, she has been taking “road trips” around the island her whole life. She is full of knowledge and suggestions. Whether you want recommendations for the best food trucks, snorkel beaches, hiking trails, waterfalls, or nightlife, Acacia will have an answer for you.

Sunset Paddle With Milo

Acacia lived in Kula until she was 2 years old then moved to Pukalani. When she was 4 she moved to her family’s off-the- grid farm in Keokea. She and her family lived in a tent for two years while they built their house. Her love of the outdoors, animals and all nature started in the woods on the farm with the horses, goats, dogs, cats and chickens. Now she spends most of the time staying in Kihei so she is closer to work. She went to Haleakala Waldorf School in Kula from preschool through elementary school.  She attended Clearview Christian Girls School for middle school. Her first two years of high school were at Haleakala Waldorf High School in Makawao. She finished high school at Hawaii Technology Academy in Wailuku.

Acacia trees are native to tropical and subtropical regions of the world, particularly Australia (where they are called wattles) and Africa, where they are well-known landmarks on the veld and savanna.

The Covid pandemic hit in March of 2020, ending Acacia’s senior year. Her plans to go to college after high school are on hold for now since she is fully embracing and improving the skills of “adulting”. She works four days a week at the Wailea Beach Resort. She loves drawing, crafting, and hanging out with her friends and her younger sister. Acacia has been a dog sitter since she was 13. She is the proud mother of 10 year old Milo, her Australian Cattle Dog. They both love the water, cruising around the island with friends, hiking in PoliPoli State Park, and sleeping late on her days off. (Seriously, Milo will sleep until 8:30 or 9am!)

Acacia’s BFF

Everyone at Kihei Rent A Car welcomes Acacia to our fun, funny, fantastic and hard working ohana! Let the good times roll.

Acacia has been dog sitting Wakea for years.
