If you’re looking for a unique way to enjoy Maui after the sun goes down, head to Kahului on Friday, November 21, for the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s ACTIVATIONS: After Hours — a free, art-immersive evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The MACC’s Schaefer International Gallery will host live music, dance, and interactive art inspired by the exhibition “Satoru Abe: Reaching for the Sun.” You’ll hear the soothing sounds of traditional Japanese instruments, enjoy contemporary dance, and watch projection-mapped visuals light up the gallery exterior. In the courtyard, DJ SKUBI will set the mood with ambient beats, making it a perfect spot to relax and mingle.
Driving from Kihei?
It’s an easy 20–25 minute trip. Just take Piʻilani Highway north, turn right onto Maui Veterans Highway, and continue straight into Kahului until you reach the MACC. There’s plenty of on-site parking and it’s well-lit for evening events.
Admission is free, but you’ll need to reserve tickets through the MACC Box Office at mauiarts.org.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase, so you can enjoy a full night out surrounded by creativity.

Whether you’re visiting or local, this is a great way to explore Maui’s vibrant arts scene — and your Kihei Rent A Car makes the adventure simple and stress-free.
Enjoy!
