Saturday Morning Swap Meet

October 18, 2024

The Maui Swap Meet, held every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University of Hawaii Maui College in Kahului, is a must-visit for both locals and visitors. Known as the island’s largest outdoor market, it offers a fantastic array of local goods, crafts, fresh produce, and unique souvenirs at affordable prices

With over 200 vendors, the Maui Swap Meet is a treasure trove of Hawaiian products. You’ll find local artisans selling handmade jewelry, clothing, art, and crafts, all reflecting the vibrant culture and beauty of Maui. It’s a great spot to pick up locally made souvenirs such as koa wood carvings, leis, and aloha wear.

Fresh produce is also a highlight of the market. You can find seasonal fruits, vegetables, and flowers sourced from Maui’s farms, making it an excellent place to stock up on tropical delights like mangoes, papayas, and avocados. Farmers often sell directly to the public, offering farm-fresh quality at reasonable prices.

The Swap Meet also boasts a range of food trucks and snack vendors, serving everything from Hawaiian shave ice to hot malasadas and fresh coconuts. For those seeking a quick bite, it’s a perfect place to sample local flavors.

Entry Fee: The entrance fee is just $0.50 per person, making it an affordable stop for budget-conscious travelers.

Location: The market is located at 310 W. Kaʻahumanu Avenue, Kahului, in the parking lot of UH Maui College, making it centrally accessible for tourists staying in different parts of the island.

Tips: It’s best to arrive early for prime shopping and cooler temperatures. Bring cash, as many vendors may not accept credit cards.

The Maui Swap Meet is not just a shopping destination; it’s a cultural experience where you can mingle with locals, enjoy the island’s flavors, and take home a piece of Maui.

Since we open at 9am, it’s a good idea to come get a rental car before 5pm on Friday evening. The Maui Swap Meet gets started very early. For a one day rental you get 24 hours to use the car.
