Dust off your cowboy hat and gather the keiki—Makawao is rolling out a full-throttle Stampede week at the Oskie Rice Event Center starting Saturday, June 28 with the vibrant Makawao Town Parade and free Hoʻolauleʻa from 9 AM–4 PM. Mounted riders, decorated floats, live entertainment, food trucks and craft stalls will line the route, ending at the arena where the winners will be honored on stage.
Friday, July 4: the Stampede kicks into high gear with a Monster Bull Bash, fueled by live tunes from the Jimmy Charles band.
Saturday, July 5: saddle up for Paniolo Day, featuring a Roselani Ice Cream eating contest, keiki zone, petting zoo, and the first performance of rodeo action.
Sunday, July 6: wrap up with Patriotic Day—complete with a watermelon-eating showdown, Kubota Excavator Operator challenge, and the dramatic Crowning of Champions.
More than just rodeo thrills, the Makawao Stampede is a cherished community tradition: a gathering spot where kupuna and keiki alike stitch lifelong memories amid paniolo spirit. Bring your chairs, tents, and mat—parking is just $5 per car and premium lanai seating runs $10.
Whether you’re here for the snacks, the spectacle, or that unmistakably Hawaiian aloha, Stampede Week delivers a hero’s welcome to Upcountry Maui. Join in, cheer loud, and ride alongside the heart of Makawao this weekend!
