In 2017, at the age of 83, Dave entered and raced in the Street Class at the Paradise Speedway drag races. In April of 2022, at the age of 88, he raced into heaven having lived a loved filled and fulfilling life. Below are pictures of Dave and Sugar, who were married for more than 60 years. Today Sugar is living peacefully in their home in Hana.

Dave and Sugar started Kihei Rent A Car in 1990 with 20 Chevy Sprints and a handshake. Today Dave’s grandkids are running the 375 vehicle operation. His legacy continues to uplift and support many people.
