If you’re looking to add a little old-school holiday magic to your Maui getaway, don’t miss Maui OnStage’s “A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol”, running November 21 through December 7 at the historic ʻĪao Theater in Wailuku.
Imagine stepping into a bustling 1940s radio studio on Christmas Eve where the Feddington Players recreate Charles Dickens’ classic tale as a live radio broadcast—with witty banter, zany sound effects, and swing-era Christmas tunes. The show blends humor, heart, and nostalgia: veteran actors, backstage hijinks, and an on-air breakdown lead to an improvised, film-noir twist full of Broadway-style songs.
Directed by long-time Maui OnStage contributor Dale Button, with musical direction by Vania Jerome and costume design by Jennifer Oberg, the production features original music by lyricist Faye Greenberg and composer David Wohl.
Performances are Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets range from $10–$45 and can be purchased at mauionstage.com.

If you’re renting a car in Kihei, this is the perfect little road-trip to Wailuku to enjoy a warm, festive, island-style holiday show that’s fun for the whole ʻohana.
