Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and head up to Kēōkea for the 40th Annual St. John’s Kula Festival—a heartwarming Upcountry tradition celebrating community, culture, and cuisine.
This year has extra meaning, as St. John’s Episcopal Church commemorates its 125th anniversary. Expect a lively, full-day event packed with local entertainers like Benny Uyetake, Danyel Alana, Kenny K. Roberts, Cheryl Rae, Vivien Bennett-Felipe, the Maui Pipe Band, and Hālau Hula Wehena O Kea. Food lovers are in for a treat: chow fun, waffles, vegan curry, shoyu & ginger chicken, kalua pig & cabbage, pot stickers, and more.
There’ll also be a silent auction, quilt show, lots of fresh produce, plants & flowers from the upcountry farmers market, and a Kids Zone with a full-day bracelet. The event is zero-waste, so bring reusable shopping bags & water bottles. Parking is free across the street. Admission is $2, with kids 12 & under admitted free.
If you’re renting with us, this festival is a perfect day-trip. Enjoy the scenic drive upcountry, stop along the way for photo ops, and immerse yourself in Maui’s agricultural roots and shared aloha.
