In December 2023 the final paperwork was completed to transfer ownership of two wetland parcels on Halekuai St, Kihei from Kihei Rent A Car Inc. to non-profit Hui Nehu. The Kihei industrial zone, where Kihei Rent A Car is located, is on the edge of one of the largest wetlands in south Maui. Hui Nehu will preserve the wetland parcels and use them for onsite education.
