Maui’s Biggest News Story? The Chicken Has Entered Its Tender Era

June 1, 2026

Move over traffic updates. Step aside surf reports. Maui has a new headline grabbing everyone’s attention: Minit Stop is launching “Chicky Tendies” on June 1. Yes, those words were actually printed in a news article, and yes, many adults immediately became hungry upon reading them.

For decades, locals have made pilgrimages to Minit Stop for their famous fried chicken and potato wedges. Now the beloved chicken is getting a makeover worthy of a reality TV show. Instead of traditional pieces, these are hand-battered chicken tenders served with three dipping sauces called “Da Dips.” Choices include Hurricane, Tsunami, and Tradewinds.

The new menu item is based on Minit Stop’s longtime signature fried chicken, which has earned a loyal following across Maui and Hawaiʻi Island.

At Kihei Rent A Car, we fully support responsible vacation planning. That means scheduling your snorkeling adventures, scenic drives, and sunset viewing around important culinary events. If your Maui itinerary suddenly includes a stop for Chicky Tendies, we completely understand.

After all, some vacations are measured in memories. Others are measured in dipping sauces.

Chicky Tendies arrive at Minit Stop locations beginning June 1, 2026.
