If you’re looking to experience the heart of Maui beyond the beaches, mark your calendar for Hot Kūpuna Nights returning to Lahaina on April 22. This special community event runs from 3–6 p.m. at the Lahaina Civic Center Social Hall and is completely free to attend.
Hosted in partnership with the County of Maui and the Hawaiian Music Perpetuation Society, the evening features live Hawaiian music by Kuʻuipo Kumukahi & Friends, along with plenty of opportunities to “talk story” and connect. Guests are even encouraged to bring their ʻukulele and join in for a relaxed kanikapila jam session.
More than just entertainment, Hot Kūpuna Nights creates a welcoming space for kūpuna and their ʻohana to gather, reconnect, and access valuable wildfire recovery resources. Community organizations will be on-site to offer support, information, and guidance in a setting that feels uplifting and grounded in aloha.
At Kihei Rent A Car, we love sharing meaningful local experiences like this. If you’re visiting Maui, a short drive to Lahaina offers a chance to witness the island’s resilience, culture, and music come together in a truly special way.
Hop in your rental, follow the sound of slack key guitars, and experience Maui’s living heartbeat.
