From Thursday, February 19 through Monday, February 23, Whale Tales 2026 — a celebration of marine conservation and storytelling returns to The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, marking the 20th annual Whale Tales event and the 25th anniversary of Whale Trust.
This five-day fest brings together world-renowned ocean leaders like Dr. Sylvia Earle, Jean-Michel Cousteau, and Nainoa Thompson alongside researchers, filmmakers, and conservation advocates for inspiring talks, panels, and live-streamed sessions. Highlights include Listening to the Ocean: An Evening of Conversation with Ocean Elders and a live connection to gray whale researchers working in the calving lagoons in Mexico.

Attendees can explore the Mauka to Makai Science Center, take part in benefit whale watches guided by top researchers, enjoy art expos, and even join a guided snorkel at the Olowalu Mission Blue Hope Spot with ocean legends.
