If you’re visiting Kihei (or lucky enough to call it home), don’t miss the chance to experience “The Reluctant Elf,” a brand-new original holiday musical at ProArts Playhouse from December 5–14, 2025.

This 50-minute family-friendly show, co-written by Ally Shore and Katy Vincent and directed by Kiegan Otterson, invites you to step into a joyful world filled with holiday songs, heart, and laughter. The story follows our buddy Steve the Elf and his daughter Bonnie as they explore Christmas Town — meeting whimsical characters, dancing, singing, and rediscovering the magic of the holidays.

There are multiple showtimes throughout the week — from matinees to evening performances — so it’s easy to plan around your vacation schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, plus select weekday performances.
Kids 12 and under get in free (thanks to the Plus One Ticket Program), making it an especially great outing for families who’ve rented with us.
Whether you’re from out of town or a local wanting to celebrate the season with a little aloha spirit, “The Reluctant Elf” is a delightful, easy-going way to enjoy holiday cheer — and perfect to pair with a scenic drive or a night out in Kihei. 🎁
We hope to see you cruising around town — and maybe catching a show too!
