If you’re looking for a unique Maui experience that brings together local food, agriculture, Hawaiian culture and environmental storytelling, the Huliau Food & Film Festival offers an unforgettable evening in Upcountry Maui.
The annual farm-to-table benefit takes place Saturday, August 29, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Kapuakukui Farm in Kula. This year, guests will enjoy beautiful Upcountry views overlooking the ocean while celebrating Maui’s local farmers, chefs and young environmental storytellers.
The evening features multiple chef stations serving pupu and desserts inspired by locally sourced ingredients. The 2026 chef team includes talented Maui chefs and culinary educators who share a commitment to local agriculture and sustainable food.
But food is only part of the experience. Guests will also enjoy live music, hula and student-produced films highlighting the unique environment, farms and agricultural heritage of the Kula moku. The films give Maui youth an opportunity to tell stories about the island and the environment they call home.
The festival is a fundraiser for the Maui Huliau Foundation, whose programs promote environmental literacy and leadership among Maui’s youth. By attending, guests are not only enjoying an evening of local food and entertainment, but also helping support hands-on environmental education for the next generation of Maui stewards.
Tickets include a $75 Mix & Mingle experience, with access to all chef stations and outdoor seating. Reserved tables for eight are also available. The 2026 event is BYOB.
